Charlotta in Liberty of London

I have been saving this fabric up for a long time! Charlotta needed something handmade, just for her, so I used a small piece of the Liberty lawn to make a dress for her. The waistband is accented by vintage lace and the collar line is embroidered. I plan on making a little crocheted shrug to go with it.

Oh my! How cute! And your dolly is just gorgeous! Can you tell me what kind of doll she is? She reminds me of Heidi Plusczok's dolls. Are her knees also jointed like her arms?

Well duh! LOL! I clicked on your photo to enlarge it and it took me to your Flickr. She IS one of Heidi's dolls. She is so sweet!

Hi, sorry--I usually do post who it is in the photo! I'm glad you figured it out. She's one of this year's line with the new jointed knees and elbows. In my opinion, these joints are far superior to most of the multiply-jointed little girl dolls on the market right now. The limbs are still all vinyl, too, which is nice since the vinyl quality is so good. I don't like the hard plastic limbs with vinyl heads that some of the jointed dolls now have. Charlotta's original outfit is very pretty, too.

Thanks for your assessment of this precious doll. I think Heidi has some of the most beautiful dolls on the market. I have admired them for a long time. They are a bit pricey, but I know they are worth it. I hope to have at least one or two eventually, and I prefer the multiple joints too.
Some people prefer resin dolls, but I love vinyl. I know resin has its good points, and is very versatile as far as customizing, etc. But you can enjoy a vinyl doll without worrying as much about fading, etc. I guess I enjoy playing with my dolls, and quality vinyl really stands up to that.
